The Adoptee Rights Coalition has been rocking the Adoptee Rights message inside of the convention center at the National Conference of State Legislators for several years now. Each year, the ARC reports that more and more people are coming to their booth to say hello and take information. The ARC as quickly built a great rapport with legislators and their staff.
While I’m no longer in Chicago to give you live updates, I got the scoop from someone who is. Claudia Corrigan D’Arcy, auxiliary board member for the Adoptee Rights Coalition, has been posting updates and pictures live to the Adoptee Rights Facebook page. Claudia told me that Louisiana legislators have been stopping by the booth in droves. There’s also interest in Adoptee Rights in Kentucky and Ohio. Adoptee visitors have also been stopping by. Karen Mayne from Utah made her yearly stop by the booth as well.
Stay tuned. If you’d like your legislators to stop by the booth, why not give their staff a call or email and let them know? Let lawmakers and the public know where you stand on Adoptee Rights. The ARC has a goal of 2000 “likes” on Facebook before the end of the NCSL week. Help ’em out.
