Great interview with Susan, Kevin! It was good to hear that some things within the adoption counselling world are changing. I still think it may be a good idea for parents that are seeking adoption counseling to choose a professional with adoption experience. I also liked the idea that Susan had of this being a “family” counselling session — not just a child session. Adoption affects the whole family, and the parents should be willing to change their behavior to assist their children in coping with adoptions issues. It does take a whole family to make this work.
