Land of Gazillion Adoptees: What’s your day job and how long have you been doing it?
Aimee: I am a Rural Payroll Technician for the US Postal Service in Eagan, MN. The Eagan Accounting Service Center does the payroll for the entire USPS. This means 800,000+ checks roll out of here every two weeks! I have been here since February of 2005. Prior to this position, I was also a Mail Distribution Clerk and a City Letter Carrier. I grew up working in my father’s hardware store and worked there before, during and after my brief stint in college. I ran the plumbing and sporting goods departments and also worked in the office as an administrative assistant.
Land of Gazillion Adoptees: I have to tell you. I know nothing about Pampered Chef. Could you talk about your involvement with the company?
Aimee: The Pampered Chef is a direct sales company that was founded in 1980. It is based out of Chicago, IL. We specialize in quality kitchen tools, food products and cookbooks, all aimed to make cooking at home easy and healthy! We do in-home cooking shows, catalog parties, bridal registries and fundraisers where the Host gets special discounts and free products for holding a party!
Anyone who knows me knows that I’m always on the go and love to do a lot of extracurricular activities. However, all of the fun gets expensive! So, awhile back, I was looking for a way to supplement my income, but it had to fit into my already hectic schedule. My good friend and coworker Jackie Louvar, a Pampered Chef Consultant, and I started talking about the company and how The Pampered Chef could be just what I was looking for. I love meeting new people and saw it as an opportunity to earn some extra money in a fun, social environment. I signed up as an Independent Consultant with the company in August of 2010. I had been a longtime fan of the company after attending several parties over the years. It was easy for me to be enthusiastic about the products while selling them.
As an Independent Consultant, I am required to sell a minimum of $150 of products per month and earn 20%-25% commission on my sales, depending on how much I sell per month. I also earn free products for submitting multiple shows per month and get products at a discount. Earlier this week I received an email from Jean Jonas, Senior Vice President of Sales, notifying me that I had reached $10,000 in career sales! Once I achieve $15,000 in sales, my base commission will increase by 2%. (Do you want to buy something, Kevin?!)
Another reason I enjoy working with The Pampered Chef is because the company collaborates with several charities – Feeding America, Food Banks Canada, American Cancer Society, Canadian Cancer Society and The Family Resiliency Center. See http://www.pamperedchef.com/pampered-chef-and-charity.jsp. I love being a part of a company that gives back to the community!
Land of Gazillion Adoptees: Sure. I’ll buy something. Let’s talk more about that later. In the meantime, how can people contact you? What can you do for interested folks? Can I get free sample? Ha!
Aimee: If you are interested in hosting a cooking show, having a book party, setting up a bridal registry/bridal shower, throwing a fundraiser or placing an individual order, you can contact me through my website: www.pamperedchef.biz/aimeesue. Cooking shows are a great way for friends, family and couples to come together over food and fun and learn something new about cooking. If you are curious about joining the company or learning more about my experience as an Independent Consultant, I’d love to hear from you! As for that “free sample,” I’d love to hook you up with the new Make It Fresh, Make It Healthy Recipe Collection so you can cook some healthy meals for your beautiful family!
Land of Gazillion Adoptees: I’m on it.
